How can inclusive access to insurance help build broader financial health in the face of compounding global risks?
Financial health requires the ability to manage risk, strengthen resilience, and recover quickly from financial shocks. Insurers, policymakers and the wider financial community all have a critical role to play to make access to insurance more inclusive to help achieve this goal.

IDF Change Agents have been present at the Insurance 4ALL Day, convened by CGAP and AXA as part of CGAP’s Council of Governors Annual Meeting, helping to drive this important conversation forward.
Left: Sophie Sirtaine, CGAP CEO and World Bank Group Director for Financial Services, and Garance Wattez-Richard, CEO, AXA EssentiALL – both Co-Chairs of the IDF Inclusive Insurance Working Group – open the event as co-hosts.
Setting the stage, Ekhosuehi Iyahen, Secretary General of the Insurance Development Forum, moderated the Opening Fireside Chat: Resilience, Insurance and Financial Health, featuring:
- H.M. Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health (UNSGSA)
- Guillaume Borie, Global Head of Finance, Strategy, Underwriting, Risk and Technology, AXA Group
H.M. Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health, works worldwide to empower people with suitable financial products and tools that enhance their financial health. At the Insurance 4ALL Day, she shared her thoughts on inclusive access to insurance and financial health.
As in this session, throughout the day, discussions will explore how accessible, affordable and attractive insurance solutions are fundamental to financial health – and what it takes to deliver more inclusive insurance, close protection gaps and embed resilience across national and global systems.
This is how we look for the solutions which help build resilience where it is needed most – to help build Future Ready Nations.
