Strengthening understanding and knowledge about insurance among the governments of countries which need its capabilities and protection the most is central to enabling their use to build resilience.
This June, the Insurance Development Forum will co-host the “Learning Week on Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance 2026” alongside the World Bank, bringing together 40+ government delegates from 17 countries with insurance industry leaders and development partners in London.
Part of the strategic IDF-World Bank Knowledge Partnership launched in 2024, the Learning Week represents an important platform for peer exchange, technical learning and public-private dialogue on disaster risk finance and insurance.
Across four days of discussions and hands-on learning, country delegates, practitioners and industry experts will explore practical approaches to strengthening financial resilience, scaling disaster risk finance solutions and helping vulnerable communities better prepare for future shocks.
Critically, the Learning Week is not only an opportunity to share technical expertise and practical insight from across the insurance sector. It is also an important opportunity to hear directly from country representatives about their priorities, experiences and challenges in strengthening resilience on the ground.
As climate and disaster risks intensify globally, collaboration, knowledge sharing and innovation will be essential to helping close protection gaps and strengthen preparedness before disasters strike.
These are the partnerships and conversations helping build Future Ready Nations.
