This is a unique and rare opportunity to join the growing and influential Insurance Development Forum (IDF) in a senior role and to help further shape and develop a vibrant and very networked public-private partnership, which is focused on action and delivery of concrete programmes and results.
About the IDF
The IDF is an industry-led public-private partnership supporting the growth and development of insurance-related resources and capabilities to help achieve the objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and U.N. Global 2030 Agenda.
It was first announced at the United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP21) Paris Climate summit in 2015 and then formally launched by leaders of the insurance industry, United Nations and the World Bank in 2016.
The IDF aims to optimise and extend the use of insurance and its related risk management capabilities to build greater resilience and protection for people, communities, businesses, and public institutions that are vulnerable to climate risks and other natural disasters and their associated economic shocks.
These objectives are aligned with the G7 and G20 InsuResilience Vision 2025 to provide insurance protection for 500 million people in developing countries affected by climate change and disaster shocks.
The IDF is governed by a four-tiered decision-making structure consisting of a Steering Committee (SteerCo), Operating Committee (OpCo), Secretariat and Working Groups.
