“The fact is, we are living in a world of compounding risks: climate shocks, social conflict [and] increasing costs of living are impacting households around the world. Insurance, when it is well designed and delivered, is one of the most powerful tools for turning vulnerability into resilience, and resilience ultimately into opportunity.”
In May this year, IDF Change Agent Ekhosuehi Iyahen, Secretary General, Insurance Development Forum, moderated the Opening Fireside Chat – Resilience, Insurance and Financial Health – at the Insurance 4 ALL high-level event.
Joined by speakers H.M. Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health, and Guillaume Borie, Global Head of Finance, Strategy, Underwriting, Risk and Technology, AXA Group, conversations were powerfully honest and hopeful.
Discussions encouraged those in the room to go ‘back to basics’, to look at models offering potential to strengthen household resilience and financial security, and to identify what needs to be in place to build trust, and success – the foundations we call upon to build Future-Ready Nations.
Convened by CGAP and AXA, this inclusive insurance-dedicated event scaled conversations on how industry can help markets better manage risk, build resilience, and recover from financial shocks.
