IDF Secretary General Ekhosuehi Iyahen, said:

“The IDF is delighted and very grateful that so many dignitaries and prestigious experts in their fields have agreed to be part of this engaging and important event to discuss how we will address some of the greatest challenges of our time, such as climate change. This will require considered partnership between the public and private sector, to help steer the necessary transition and guide the trade-offs and also opportunities that will emerge as governments, communities, organisations seek to strengthen their resilience.

We purposely planned our event to take place ahead of the 47th G7 summit and COP26, so that IDF and its members and supporters from the broader insurance development community and further afield can add to the groundswell towards a global shift as we look to combat climate change. For insurance professionals, this is a great chance to be part of the conversation addressing climate-related risk and to see how the IDF is driving action within the industry in tandem with our public sector partners. For the public sector, academia and civil society, it is an important chance to gain insights into the contributions that the insurance industry can make and the avenues for collaboration in this area.”
