Stuart Fraser is a disaster risk consultant, based in the UK. He works with the IDF Risk Modelling Steering Group (RMSG) to open up access to climate and disaster risk insights for disaster risk financing and climate adaptation. Stuart has a background in risk modelling and communication of risk information and has 18 years of experience working across the reinsurance industry, academia and the development sector. He has international experience in risk data development and loss modelling across multiple hazards and regions. Stuart has designed and led risk large scale risk assessments in Africa, Central Asia, and the Pacific, and has led the development of several open source public good risk information tools. Stuart holds an MSc in Geophysical Hazards from University College London and a PhD in Emergency Management (focussing on tsunami hazard and evacuation modelling) from Massey University, New Zealand.
