Elina Papaspyropoulou is a graduate of the School of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has also attended the Faculty of Law of the Leibniz University in Hannover, Germany.
She holds the position of Director General of the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies since April 2022. She is also, the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors at the Greek Institute of Insurance Studies.
Elina has 25 years of experience in the insurance industry specializing in liability insurance for major commercial and industrial risks. In 1997 she started as a Liability underwriter at Gerling VAG and in 1999 she took over the management of the company’s Liability Division. From 2015 to 2019 she was the Technical Director at HDI Global SE (underwriting and claims) for the company’s operations in Greece, Balkans, and SE Mediterranean. In September 2019, she took over the Management of the Facultative Reinsurance Department at AON Greece SA for the company’s operations in Greece and Cyprus.
She was a member of the Liability Committee of the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies from 2007 to 2011 and Vice Chairperson from 2011 to 2019. She has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Representatives and Executives of Insurance Companies.
Elina has participated as a lecturer on Liability Insurance, Cyber Risk Insurance and Directors and Officers Liability Insurance at the Greek Institute of Insurance Studies, the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies, the Hellenic Insurance Brokers Association, the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, the Greek Exporters Association, and the Insurance Institute of Cyprus.
She has also attended professional and personal development training courses (Talanx Management Development Program, Strategic Leadership Seminar SDA BOCCONI).
