Insurance Development Forum & World Bank Knowledge Hub Day 2024

This event is being convened by the Insurance Development Forum and the World Bank Global Shield Financing Facility as part of their joint Knowledge Partnership for World Bank country clients to expose them to industry expertise and capabilities.
The aim of the convening is to strengthen countries’ understanding of the role of insurance in  building social, economic and financial resilience and to pave the way for increased engagement with the insurance industry and its capabilities and in particular levering domestic insurance markets, going forward.

Target audience are senior officials of Ministry of Finance with varying interests and levels of experience with the insurance industry and its capabilities.
The Day is structured as an interactive operational session with space for dialogue between countries, IDF industry members, and World Bank with the objective of sharing insights and developing strategies to overcome challenges and opportunities in developing appropriate climate and disaster risk finance and insurance solutions for governments, firms, and households.
Topics addressed through the learning and dialogue sessions include strengthening domestic insurance markets, linking private sector solutions to shock-responsive systems (e.g., adaptive social protection), developing agriculture solutions and insuring public assets (networked and non-networked assets).
The convening is restricted to World Bank Country Clients and IDF Members.
