Elizabeth is the Technical Lead of the Crisis Anticipation and Risk Finance team at Start Network. She has 7 years’ experience working in the insurance and international development sectors. At Start Network she is responsible for overseeing and directing technical design components of risk financing systems, initiatives that allow humanitarian organizations to be better prepared in advance of cyclical events. Elizabeth works closely with academics and modelling specialists in the design and validation process of the models, ensuring their suitability for humanitarian needs and fit within Start’s human-impact driven and localisation approach. She also manages the Start Ready risk portfolio and modelling and works alongside insurance industry colleagues to help secure (re)insurance for the pool.
